Then one day, he set off to Centrelink. Normally, he
would go there at about 11:00 am, but this time he
went along with his brother at about 8:30. His brother
was saying to him, "You're kids might go to this
school", as they walked past the Caboolture State
School. (Robert had lost contact with his children, and
had not seen them for four long years, and he
yearned to see them again.)
Robert dismissed what his brother had said as highly
unlikely, but a second later, he saw his kids coming
around the corner, as they did in fact go to that school.
Robert went up to their mother, and asked if he could
see his kids, and she said "Yes, of course."
Robert met up with them that afternoon, and later went shopping with them. A few
days later he took them to the amusement rides that were in Caboolture while the
Urban Country Music Festival was on. A father reunited with his children after 4
years! And the contact is ongoing.
Robert has also found a job picking pineapples at Elimbah, while he looks for a
permanent job.
As Robert told me over the phone how he had been reunited with his children,
tears of joy began to well up in my eyes, as I thought how good God is, who is
"able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the
power that works in us" (Ephesians 3:20).
